October 8, SEMINAR Park of Beervelde and Gallic Farm in Destelbergen

Daarna voorzien we ergens gezellig lunchen.

Dear members, dear candidate members,
On Thursday, August 4th,  IATM organizes a guided visit to the temporary exhibition A wonderful garden. The visit is free for members or candidates.
The central panel of the Ghent Altarpiece has a sumptuous background of plants and flowers. It is striking how diverse they are, and how true to nature. There is no unity of time or place: spring flowers grow beside summer plants and southern flora alongside plants from northern climes. This exhibition shows the symbolic meaning of these plants and the origin of this botanical knowledge.
We meet at the Caermersklooster in Ghent at 10.30. The tour takes about 1 1/2 hours. Then we go for lunch somewhere nice. (Of course at your own expense).
You can subscribe now via email to georges@iatmbelgium.org, and mention whether you take part in the lunch or not. (Must book the place)

A word from the new Chairman

Dear members of IATM,

After a cold and long winter period, in which we were all both stunned and lost due to the sudden departure of our Chairman, Christian, we must go on. We are all very grateful to Danielle, Christians widow, who despite her terrible loss, had to cope with keeping watch over the Belgian Country group. She has now passed the torch to me and I have accepted this with enthusiasm.

The world is permanently changing, in every way. War and terrorism, technology, communications, science, etc…

Also the Touring sector evolves and has to adapt. We all have good memories of the busloads of tourists that visited  our region in the past and they were our main source of work and income.

Rosies Column

My name is Rosie, guests call me ‘Rosie no problem’..as guide you never have problems as you know…
In a lifetime as guide, we normally could write a nice book from all the happenings we had on the road. This stood on my bucket list. From now on I can practice this already. Today, I had a request from the new president George Depoorter to write a short ‘Rosies column’. So from now, I will inform you on a nice and funny way some anecdotes and little stories that we experience as  tourmanager and guide.
Welcome to my world…
